Due to yet another catastrophic failure of a scuba cylinder manufactured between 1975 and sometime in 1989 we now require the following: All aluminum cylinders made of the 6531 alloy by Luxfer and Walter Kidde will be required to be tested using visual eddy at the hydro facility and stamped “VE” in accordance with current D.O.T. guidelines. The added cost of this inspection which is done off site is: $8.50. An increasing number of dive shops are ceasing to accept these cylinders irregardless of their current inspection status and we feel the need to tell you that at this time we continue to fill them with reservations and might discontinue them at any time in the future.
